Johnson showed that the amenability of a locally compact group G can be characterized in terms of the Hochschild cohomology of its group algebra L^1(G): this initiated the theory of amenable Banach algebras. As Val, an uptight on-air attorney for Trial TV and daughter of prominent parents, tries to talk Rene into helping her get home, she's also trying desperately to fight her overwhelming attraction to him. Rene is at turns both attracte to Val and frustrated by her. When the couple finally act upon their attraction, the scene is incendiary. Hill writes romance that puts a smile on your face and makes you laugh out loud. She's a smooth writer who has a great sense of place and setting.

The only reason I would qualify my recommendation is because the dialogue is filled with what I'm sure is colloquial Louisiana language, but it sometimes seemed a bit forced to me, and I found it distracting. That being said, the romance is strongly written and very entertaining. Hill delivers again.

PICKPOCKET â?? Under the guise of helping with a card trick, two spectators find themselves in a hilarious situation as the performer repeatedly produces cards from their jackets and pockets. The performer then begins to produce personal items that he apparently lifted from the spectators, ending with an amazing wristwatch steal.

NEWSPAPER TEAR â?? A section of newspaper is torn into pieces and then restored. The performer offers to explain how itâ??s done but the explanation leaves the audience even more amazed and baffled!

BILL IN POTATO â?? A borrowed bill is initialed, the serial number noted and then subsequently vanished. It is miraculously found to be in the middle of a potato freely chosen by a member of the audience!

THE CARDS IN THE BUCKET â?? A card is selected and shuffled back into the deck and the cards are then cascaded into a champagne bucket. The performer lowers a length of rope into the bucket and when he pulls it back up, the selected card is found to have been lassoed.

CARD IN GLASS â?? A new and novel way to reveal a selected card. A chosen card is shuffled back into the deck which is then placed into a drinking glass. When the glass is inverted, all of the cards fall to the table . . . except for the selection!

CARD ON FOREHEAD â?? Another entertaining way to reveal a chosen card. A card is selected and returned to the deck. The performer and spectator both place their hands on their foreheads as the performer attempts to read the spectatorâ??s thoughts. The performer successfully names the selected card and when he lowers his hand, the chosen card is on his forehead!

UPSIDE DOWN CARD â?? After a card is chosen and returned, the deck is shuffled with half the deck face up while the other half is face down. At the performerâ??s command, all of the cards right themselves save for the spectatorâ??s selection.

CLASSIC FORCE â?? Paul Potassy is a master of this elusive sleight and provides not only his handling but subtle tips that will enable you to add this powerful weapon to your own card magic arsenal. Youâ??ll even learn how to accurately and reliably use the Classic Force behind your back!

PREDICTION COMBINATION â?? The performer writes a prediction and isolates it in a drinking glass. A spectator selects a card, remembers it and mixes it back into the pack. A second spectator is asked to think of a small number. The performer reads the first spectatorâ??s mind and reveals the name of the selected card. Then, the chosen number is counted down to in the deck to find the actual selection. Finally, the written prediction is revealed to show that the performer had accurately predicted the card from the outset.

THINK A CARD â?? A miracle of card magic. The cards are spread at a spectatorâ??s eye level as he invites the onlooker to just â??think a card.â? Though the card is never removed from the pack, the performer is able to name it. Potassy has refined this to the point where it can be repeated several times, making it all the more baffling.

CARD THROUGH HANKY â?? Potassyâ??s version of this magical classic. A card is chosen and returned to the deck, which is then wrapped in a handkerchief. The performer takes the ends of the handkerchief, gives the bundled deck a shake, and the selected card apparently passes right through the center.

POTASSY BRAINWAVE â?? A spectator, chosen by the roll of a die, calls out a card that is found to be the only card reversed in an openly-displayed deck. This is repeated again with the same inexplicable result. THE CARDS ACROSS â?? A small packet of cards is divided among two spectators and the performer magically passes cards between them while the spectators are holding onto, and even sitting on, the cards. Learn how to make this classic trick play even for a large audience.

THE CARD IN THE CIGARETTE â?? Another reputation maker! A chosen card is torn into pieces. One piece is held by a spectator while the others are vanished. The card is miraculously found rolled up in a borrowed cigarette which was segregated in a drinking glass even before the card was selected. And, yes . . . the piece is fitted to the card for verification!

TEN CARDS TO POCKET â?? A showpiece with just a few playing cards that will play for the largest audience! Cards mysteriously and invisibly travel from the performerâ??s hands to his pockets. In these, all the UK?s and most of Europe?s major ISPs locate their equipment allowing the fastest possible speeds for connections and the best facilities in terms of security, environmental control, power resilience through multiple National Grid connections and on site generators with UPS battery systems, fire detection and suppression, water leak detection, and also offer the choice of data carriers from the various UK, European and Global transit providers.

Utilising multiple data centres allows us to have site resilience for our core services, even in the very unlikely event of a data centre failing, we and therefore our customers, can continue to operate.
BlueSquare Data Centre

The new BlueSquare Milton Keynes data centre is one of the very few tier IV data centres in the UK. It was originally purpose built to the highest standards for a leading German bank, with BlueSquare taking over the site in March 2008. BlueSquare completely refitted all of the interior and exterior systems to a very high N+N redundancy level.

The site benefits from dual diverse substations, as well as multiple diverse dark fibre providers offering an excellent choice in connectivity.
Services Provided to Customers

As an Internet Service Provider we provide a number of services to our customers, including:

DNS Platform: DNS is the keystone for the Internet, and with our background in domain name registration, an area of the business we take very seriously. For Authoritive DNS, we operate an advanced DNS solution utilising three DNS servers in different locations and on different networks. For customer use, we also operate a number of Resolving or Caching DNS servers, ensuring only the most current DNS record for any domain name is returned and making DNS resolution as quick as possible for our customers.

Email Platform: Our email platform cluster currently handles nearly 3 million emails every day which are passed through both anti-spam and anti-virus filters before being stored on our state-of-the-art storage platform offering over 15TB of storage space. Access to stored email is available via POP3, WebMail and IMAP.

Hosting Platform: All our shared-server websites are hosted on two state-of-the-art server farms, with one cluster for our Linux hosting and another for the Windows hosting. Each server farm is composed of a cluster of servers behind a series of redundant load-balancers. This allows any of the servers in the cluster to be taken out of service for maintenance without affecting the performance of any hosted website.

Data Backups: All three of our major platforms storing customer data are backed up both on the fly and daily to independent and resilient devices.

Connectivity Platform: For our ADSL and SDSL Broadband services, we utilise multiple BT-Central Connections (pipes) from BT wholesale directly linking our network to all the xDSL enabled exchanges around the country. By having our own pipes it means we can completely control the speed and services offers to customers ensuring a contention free Internet experience. For Dialup services we operate our own dial platform for termination of inbound calls, this means we are in complete control of all the connections, and by terminating the calls on our own network we can minimise latency.

Dedicated Servers: All dedicated server solutions for customers are deployed using the same grade of rack-mountable, high capacity servers used for our own services. With equipment sourced from a number of manufacturers including Dell, HP and Super Micro.

Normally I know Steve Martini to be a legal thriller writer. Now he seems to be venturing into the spy thriller. I blame myself mostly for being disappointed in this latest Madriani novel. The reason would be that I didn't read the previous 'Guardian of Lies' thriller and it seems to tie in with this one quite a bit. This left me in the dark on quite a few of the topics. This is not a good stand alone thriller. I'm still not sure this one would of pulled me in whether I read the first or not. Maybe it was the overall mediocre pace of the story. I know Martini to be a very talented author from his courtroom dramas but this latest didn't stand at all by itself.

Dressmaking, considered a natural extension of women’s proper work in the home, was a common and lucrative employment for women in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It afforded creative expression, prestige in the community, and even the possibility of financial independence. This is a more introspective book than many of the other Bolitho novels, but it still has plenty of adventure and some gripping sea battles. It is far more a character study, though, and it does an interesting job of testing Bolitho the man against the customs and constraints of his time in English history. An affecting read for Bolitho fans, although I do wonder what reaction it might get from a reader not already familiar with the character.

As "Scholar" takes us back centuries from the superb world of the original Imager series, I would say that the novel is quite accessible even if one has not read the first series and LE Modesitt's world building skills are again on display here. However for people familiar with Rhenn's world, you will recognize the same general social and political division of holders, factors and artisans, the Phaarsi already being viewed with suspicion and occasionally persecuted, though at this moment in time there is no Imager Collegium, while princes rule the three countries that make up Solidar and relatively recent battles and conquests that reduced said number to three are fresh in everyone's memories.

The book presents the solutions to two problems: the first is the construction of expanding graphs – graphs which are of fundamental importance for communication networks and computer science; the second is the Ruziewicz problem concerning the finitely additive invariant measures on spheres. Both problems were partially solved using the Kazhdan property (T) from representation theory of semi-simple Lie groups. Later, complete soultions were obtained for both problems using the Ramanujan conjecture from analytic number theory. The author, who played an important role in these developments, explains the two problems and their solutions from a perspective which reveals why all these seemingly unrelated topics are so interconnected. The unified approach shows interrelations between different branches of mathematics such as graph theory, measure theory, Riemannian geometry, discrete subgroups of Lie groups, representation theory and analytic number theory.

Special efforts were made to make the book accessible to graduate students in mathematics and computer science. A number of problems and suggestions for further research are presented.

It reminded me of the experience of reading Dune for the first time, with throwaway details that hint tangentially at complex, fully-imagined institutions. Cumulatively, they yield a sense of a vast society that is at once fantastic and utterly plausible.

This book developed from a series of conferences to facilitate the application of mathematical modeling to experimental nutrition. As nutrition science moves from prevention of gross deficiencies to identifying requirements for optimum long term health, more sophisticated methods of nutritional assessment will be needed. Collection and evaluation of kinetic data may be one such method.

This books opens with chapters giving specific examples of the application of modeling techniques to vitamin A, carotenoids, folate, vitamin b-6, glycogen phosphorylase, transthyretin, amino acids, and energy metabolism. Obtaining kinetic data on internal processes is a major challenge; therefore, the text includes chapters on the use of microdialysis and ultrafiltration, use of membrane vesicles, and culture of mammary tissue. Many of the authors use the Simulation, Analysis and Modeling program which allows compartmental models to be described without specifying the required differential equations. The final sections of the book, however, present some more mathematical descriptions of physiological processes, including bioperiodicity, metabolic control, and membrane transport; discussions of some computational aspects of modeling such as parameter distributions, linear integrators and identifiability; and alternative mathematical approaches such as neural networks and graph theory.

Ch02: 3 Dimensional Vectors
We move on to 3 Dimensional Vectors and treating RGB colour space as a Vector.

Ch03: Unit Vectors
Bobo explains the importance of Unit Vectors and shows a practical application within a scripted PFlow Operator.

Ch04: Trigonometry & Vector Operations
Moving on from Vectors we look a trigonometry and how the sine and cosine functions relate to angles and vectors. We also look at vector dot and cross products.

Ch05: Barycentric Coordinates
We look at how a position on a triangular face can be specified via barycentric coordinates.

Ch06: Ray Intersections
In this chapter we look at the MAXscript Ray and RayEx. functions and how they can be used to find collisions within 3D space.

Ch07: The Matrix: Explained
The Matrix? here Bobo explains the basics of how a matrix is used within 3D software to store a nodes position in space, its rotation and also its scale and shows how nodes and PFlow particles can be aligned using their Matrices.

Ch08: The Matrix: Continued
Continuing with Matrices we look at how we can determine if two objects face towards each other and how to rotate an object within another objects transform space.

Ch09: Vectors and Matrix3 Values
We look at how we can convert a single vector into a full Matrix, also the same but with an up vector and more.

Ch10: Sub-object Transformations
We look at controlling Modifier Gizmo?s position and orientation using its matrix and how this can be used to slice many objects with the same plane at the same time.

Ch11: Camera & View Transform Matrix
Bobo explores the fact that any scene camera has its own transform matrix and how this can be used to determine all objects in front or behind the camera.

Ch12: A Basic Rendering Pipeline
We start our end project, constructing a fully functional scripted rendering system. First we implement a basic diffuse shading model and also Z-Depth testing.

Ch13: Implementing Textures
Then we move on to support textures within our shading model and also ambient light.

Ch14: Phong And Blinn Highlights
We look at how Phong and Blinn highlights are calculated and then we implement Blinn highlights.

Ch15: Implementing Shadows/Reflections
And we complete our rendering system by adding ray traced shadows and final ray traced reflections.

He was not only an inventor in his own right, but the orchestra leader of a symphony of ideas. Westinghouse developed the corporate model of invention and research.

His innovations allowed Westinghouse to take the lead in electrical distribution. While Edison electrified New York City, the nation turned in favor of the AC current system of Westinghouse. He was a pioneer in pension plans and in planned communities for workers. His natural gas distribution system did more than Carnegie's capital to make Pittsburgh the Steel City.

The panic of 1907 changed Westinghouse. It took the energy out of the industrial lion and resulted in a personal depression, which led to his death in1914.

Samuel Gompers said that, if industry had been run by men like Westinghouse, there would have been no need for unions. Employees loved the gentle genius who worried about them routinely. Over 55,000 employees voluntarily collected money for a memorial to Westinghouse in 1955; this memorial would have been the one he cherished the most.
